SLOW MOTION SEAGULLS - NFT ART SERIES

Slow Motion Seagulls
NFT ART SERIES

by fh westaway

George is a seagull that lives on my roof. When the tourist season is over the town is quiet, as a result food is scarce so I occasionally throws scraps of leftovers to him - especially when the grandchildren are visiting. However, it turns into a rugby match with about 30 seagulls. But I always know George because he gives me a wink.

I asked my son William for a small camera so I could film them. The sound is amazing because its the seagulls calling to each other in slow motion.

It's a five year project and I will continue to do it until I have 999 six-second clips which I will then mint as one-off NFT's.  I don't understand any of it but my son said it was a good idea.

GEORGE
is the king of the rooftop and can normally be found shouting rather than eating. He's been the dominant seagull for about 14 years ever since I buried his parents, who nested in the same spot he does.
RoseProfile.jpg
SHE
is George's long term mate. She is a bit bigger and more rounded. Never involved in the argy-bargy and she's normally at the front of the queue in a good position.

PECKER
Ironically called pecker because he's low on the pecking order, normally trying to squirm in from the back - or getting attacked. He has dark grey feathers because he's very young.

sneakyProfile.jpg

SNEAKY
Sneaky is from the "sneak family" who nest down the road. They keep themselves to themselves and like to peep out of their nest and watch all their neighbours. Sneaky always hangs around at the back of the melee and sneak in to gobble food.

GOBBLER
Gobbler is from the "gobbler family"  who are greedy gits. They nest on top of the nearby Vietnamese restaurant and are always rummaging through the bins. He barges through the crowd and eats as fast as he can.

trampyProfile.jpg

TRAMPY
Trampy is from the "Tramp family"  who all share the same trait of pecking at mud and plants in the garden.
